Ismail: The Last Days
Last Tuesday, Angie, Zanne, Zhao Wern and I decided to go watch Ching’s play at the KL Performing Arts Center.
It’s called Ismail: The Last Days. It’s primarily about Dr. Ismail and his last days serving the government before his death. Don’t know who he is? Here’s a clue: Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. Got it? Great. =D

The stage & the orchestra

We weren’t allowed to take pictures of the play so, no pictures were taken. Sorry!
The play ended around 10:45pm I think. We hung around outside and took some pics while waiting for Ching to come out.

And finally Ching came out to greet us. She still had her make up on.

Great job Ching at the play! Hopefully in the future you’ll take part in more plays so I can go watch. (I love watching plays =P)

Ah withdrawing from "playtime", we’ve finally finished our MMH documentary video. We were given only a week to do it and my god, even though it was supposed to be only 5 minutes long, the amount of time spent of editing it was so gruelling. I was so on the verge of tearing my hair out.
Maybe, once Ms. Natasha has shown everyone then I might consider uploading it to Youtube so others can view it. Hehe. So guys, look forward to that. =)
Fine Dining at L’escoffier
[Okay, this will be the 3rd time I am re-typing this, please, I say PLEASE, don't let me laptop crash again. Grr.]
Yesterday around 6:00AM in the morning I got a call from my classmate, Yee Ven, she said she needed a favour from me. Her friend from Taylor’s School of Hospitality and Hotel Management is having a practical assessment today and will be required to bring 3 guests to one of the fine dining restaurants at Taylor’s PJ. I have always wanted to try out the food prepared by the hospitality students, so I agreed and so did Angie and Zanne.
Hence, around 12 noon we went into L’escoffier.

The menu of the day was:
Appetiser
Pumpkin soup
Main course
Sauteed chicken with Chasseur sauce
Dessert
Apple pie
We started of with some bread and butter.

We also ordered this fruit passion thingy juice for RM3 a glass. (The rest of the meals were free. =D)

Finally our appetiser came. Pumpkin soup. Yeurgh. I’m not really a fan of pumpkins. I found the soup to be a bit too pumpkin-y. But I added a dash of salt into it and it became much more er…bearable.
Rating: 5/10

After our appetiser, we were served with the main course, sauteed chicken with Chasseur sauce. Chasseur sauce is a type of brown sauce with mushrooms, shallots and white wine. I’m not sure if they put white wine into this one, although I could almost taste it.
It was quite nice actually. Wouldn’t mind having it again.
Rating: 7/10

Lastly, we had our dessert (which is my favourite part!).
During our stay at Hotel Equatorial Malacca we had something similar to this at the hotel and I would say that the apple pie prepared by the hospitality students were much, much better. The pastry was really good although the apple was a bit sour.
Rating: 9/10

So that marked the end of our very first lunch at L’escoffier. Well I hope Yee Ven’s friend get decent marks while serving us. =D

Rawr! I’m home!
I’m home again for the weekend! Whew…last week was quite tiring for me. Classes, club meetings, Public Speaking workshop, charity food sales and time for my Teddy =). I did not even got the chance to go to the gym. Ugh, the guilt. But anyway yesterday (Friday) was the last day of sales for my Dream Inc. Club. For about 5 weeks, twice a week we sold brownies, cheese tarts, sweets and chocolate dipped marshmallows. We’ve got approximately RM1900 now I think. Our target is RM2000 so hopefully with some donation we can reach it. =D
Oh! I bought Baby Oakey a wheel to run on! It’s not cheap eh, RM85.80. It’s so expensive ‘coz it’s pretty huge, about 12 inches in diameter.

Just now I went down to spy on Oakey and guess what?!
I found him snoozing on his little wheeeeel!

Lol. Oakey’s so cuteeeee =P.
Mmm I think I’ll go watch some Spongebob cartoons now. =D
P.S. I miss you Teddy! *huggies*

The Advent of A New Semester
So our short-lived holidays came to an end at last and I have but to attend college again. But during the holidays I still had to go to college to help out on our Animal Adoption Project by the Dream Inc Club (a.k.a Scholarship Club for the geeky smart-alecks).
However, that was actually fun though sometimes pretty sweaty. But the point is, heck do you know during our introductory class today for Principles of Economics I kept yawning so many times despite our lecturer who seem to have the ability to talk non-stop from economics to babies to celebrities to economics. Lol. I find him quite pretty peculiar and funny though.
Anyway, I have 5 subjects this semester. I heard our IT lecturer is pretty hot but he’s married. =( Still it’s eye candy. =P
And…omg. I just checked my Student Portal and the office made changes to our timetable. I don’t have any off days during the weekday! Prior to the change, Wednesday was off for me. =( Three of the five days we have to go college just for one class. Sigh. But I suppose that means I have more time for gym as well.
Ugh yes speaking of gym. My weight isn’t going down! =( Omg. I need to seriously really stop eating. I feel so depressed everytime I think about it. And no please stop saying I look fine, you haven’t seen my tummy yet. Grrr!
Ah well, now with the new timetable I have time to go to the gym 4 times a week. So I guess it’s not such a bad thing afterall. But it is bad for those who have to drive all the way to college like poor Angie. *pats Angie* Haha. =P
Mmm I’m back home for the weekend. Yay! Can see my Princess and Oakey! Hehe. And of course the Internet! Currently I have no Internet at my new apartment. Yeah, so it gets pretty dull there. But oh well. Gonna apply for line next week. =D
I’m gonna go chill and relax abit. (And hopefully update my blogspot Blog. It’s been bare for sometime.) Lol. See ya til the next post!
Malacca 2008
Right like what I mentioned in the previous post, this post will be about the trip to Malacca I had with Angie and Zanne.
Our bus was scheduled to leave at 10am. So I woke up at 7am that morning to get ready and then took the LRT to Puduraya. The journey was about 2 hours and by the time we got there I was so hungry.
Angie called her uncle who lives there to come pick us up and he brought us to this ancient little Chinese restaurant that sells the BEST ever "char siew fan", I still daydream about it now.

Omggg I really want it againnnnn! =(
Anyway, from there we adjourned to the hotel which we’re gonna stay in - Equatorial Hotel. I know, it is pricey. But nonetheless, very comfortable.

The view from our room balcony, you can see the Straits of Malacca

Baby Panda came along too! =D
We stayed a couple of hours in the room to settle down and clean ourselves before walking over to some of the shopping complexes nearby. Bought 2 pairs of earrings from there.
Then at around 6.30pm, Angie’s cousins picked us up and brought us to try the satay celup.

That’s where everyone dips the sticks in. A little disgusting when you think of it, but ah well, it’s just to try. =)
We were pretty stuffed after that and continued walking round the shopping centers. At about 9 ish pm we went to this open air food court called Newton and ate a bunch of stuff.

Fried oyster with starch and egg

Ikan bakar!

Er…I think it’s old cucumber soup

We were once stuffed again and dragged ourselves back to the hotel. Lights out!

One of the tombs at St. Paul’s hill

Camwhore queens

Angie & Nikki
It was a very windy morning and our hairs were all over the place. Lol. Anyway, after sightseeing we walked over to a restaurant selling chicken rice balls.

I ate 10 rice balls and was again, stuffed. Lol. I know it’s unhealty. But hey, we’re on holiday!
With lunch over, we walked across the road to the Stathuys and paid RM5 to enter the museums there.

After the museum we walked a distance to the "Eye on Malacca" some sort of er…miniature of Eye on Malaysia. It’s nothing much really, just a revolving tower where we have to pay to go in and sit for 7 minutes while it keeps revolving.

The view
We were pretty hot and tired after all that so we walked all the way back to our hotel to shower and get changed to go out again.
It was tea time and we went into this little shop called Cafe 1511. It was featured on the food programme Jalan-jalan Cari Makan so I figured it must be pretty good.

Pai Tee

Nyonya spring roll

Otak-otak
Ah, we were half stuffed. The other half reserved for the food from Jonker Walk.

Laksa

Cendol and ais kacang

Angie and I blowing bubbles! =P

Bubbles on the floor
The next morning - our last morning in Malacca was pretty gloomy. It rained all morning, we couldn’t go out to eat. So we had to stay and eat the er…overpriced food at the hotel.

Check-out time was 12 noon so we hung around the hotel as we didn’t really have much time left. We camwhored a bit more to burn time.

That’s it for our trip. I think all of us enjoyed it thoroughly. Can’t wait for our next semester break for yet another trip. =D
P.S. I think we’ll be going to the beaches at Kuantan, Pahang. =P
Pavillion @ 10th July 2008
Just 2 days after we finished our final exams on 8th July, Angie, Zanne and I took a couple of trains down to Pavillion.
We were starving by the time we reached so we immediately head over to Tony Roma’s for lunch.

We all agreed to order the set lunch and the onion ring thingy which was supposedly heavenly as told by Angie.

After lunch we went into the washroom and camwhored there for a while. Lol. People gave us funny looks as we stood in front of the huge mirror taking pics.

There are loads more of pics, but it’s pretty much the same. =D
Then, we walked around and looking for stuff to buy. I bought some stuff for my nails and eyes. Plus a birthday present for my bro, it was his birthday that day.
Hmm I can’t remember now what else I bought but I do remember that I spent more than I planned. Lol. Oh well.
Oh yeah, we tried a bunch of dresses at Forever 21. Think I’ll get a few of them when I get my allowance. =P

We left around 5.00pm because I had to go back early for my bro’s birthday dinner.
—————————————————————————————-
Then, on the 12th I went out with CM, Jie Yi and SC to celebrate Jie Yi’s birthday. My lappie somehow can’t read my camera’s digicam now, so can’t upload piccies. =/ But there are only pics of food, forgot to take the people. Lol.
Mmm oh and last Thursday, 17th July 2008, again the three of us (Angie, Zanne and I), we went to Melaka for a 3 days 2 nights trip! Part of the pictures are with me while the others are with Zanne. I shall wait (till God knows when) for Zanne to upload hers before I make a blog post about it. =D Til’ then, see ya!
I Can’t Feel My Brain
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh. Just bloody ugh.
Malaysian Studies is such a pain in the butt. I really cannot wait to get it over and done with. Oh but just so you know its sooooo ironic that Malaysian Studies also happens to be one of my highest scoring subjects. I know! It’s so dumb.
However, I’ve got a feeling that for my finals (tomorrow) I will not perform as well as I did during mid term. Sigh.
For the past week I was having my study break and to be honest it was more of an "chill and relax" break. I told myself last Monday that, "Okay, I will fully utilize my study break to its maximum." But what did I do every day right until only Saturday? Oh, I sat in front of my computer watching Friends.
Argh. I’m like half-lying to myself that I have already studied weeks before and am ready for tomorrow. The other half is kinda regretting not have made use of the study break. Oh god. Why does it always have to be like that?
So yesterday (Saturday) and especially today I spent most of the time cramming whatever information I can about Intro to Mass Comm and Malaysian Studies. I’m telling you my brain actually feels numb right now (hence the title).
Sigh. I hope all goes well tomorrow.
Hmm wait…perhaps I should take a more confident approach.
I will do great tomorrow!
(Or I hope at least. >.<)
OH WAIT!
Here’s a picture of Baby Oakey right after his bath:

TWCS @ KL Hilton
Okay so about 10 days ago, I attended the Taylor’s World Class Scholarship award ceremony at the KL Hilton Hotel. We were supposed to be there at 7:00A.M for the briefing…but you know lah Malaysian timing system. *rolls eyes*

Anyway, we were sitting down waiting for the event to start when suddenly this tall guy all dressed in black appeared a few steps in front of where I was sitting. From the back I could tell he was partly white and definitely hot. Then finally he turned around and OMG! It’s Will Quah! If you don’t know who Will Quah is here’s a picture of him:

I used to see him on NTV7 as a news anchor, he was also in the TV ads for Brand’s Essence of Chicken and lots more. But anyway, he was the emcee for the TWCS award ceremony! I wonder how much Taylor’s paid him to come.

The way he talked was so good, like when he was reading my (and others) achievements, he made it sound like we’re THAT great. Lol yeah.

Mmm so like most occasions and events, I always always ALWAYS look forward to the food being served. =D

Especially DESSERTS. Yum.

I loved the drinks they made. It was some pineapple punch thingy. Tasted sweet and sugary although Kenneth didn’t like it. Haha.
Four of us who got the scholarship under Taylor’s College School of Communication.
Didi and I are under the advertising company Universal McCann while both Kenneth and Nicole are under Arc Worldwide.
Hmm 2 days after the ceremony Taylor’s made their first phone call to me asking me to help out during Campus Day. How fast eh, hehe. But at least I’ll get paid. =D

Past. Present. Future.
I let my mind take a little stroll down the memory lane. Not too far away, just a few years back. Things were so different back then. So different that they showed no clues nor signs that the present would be painted this way.
Some things I wish I never did so, but if I did not, I wouldn’t have what I have now. I wouldn’t have met the people I know now. But if things were different then I would not lose the people I knew back then.
I guess right now I’m feeling a mixture of gratefulness and regret. Grateful for what I have today, regretful for what I have lost.
There is a saying…
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."
My present. Teddy. College. Scholarship. Oakey.
My past. Disfigured. Blurry. Dark. Uncertainty.
Clearly, the present is much better. I have everything I ever wanted now. So why the desire to wander down the memory lane?
Another saying…
"The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it."
So I should cast the past aside, cling on to the present and be ready for the future.
What is the future? At the moment, it is pitch black. Light shall shed bit by bit and more of the future shall be revealed. But when does it stop? It is a perpetual process. Never stopping to wait for you to catch up. Yes, I should prepare for it.
Hence, goodbye Past! Hi Present! I’ll be looking forward to seeing you Future!
—————————————————–
Now that was a weird post eh? Reading it now, I think it’s a little bit odd but still okay I suppose.
Mmm it’s late here. I promised Teddie I’ll be going to bed already. He’s waiting for me to join him…well in Dreamland. Lol.
Goodnites.
