So yeah I downloaded Story Of The Year’s newest album The Black Swan. At first I thought maybe this album would be like many of the others, (just for collection), but then I found myself listening to it over and over again.
Track listing:-
- “Choose Your Fate” - 3:34
- “Wake Up” - 3:32
- “The Antidote” - 4:00
- “Tell Me (P.A.C.)” - 3:59
- “Angel In the Swamp” - 4:29
- “The Black Swan”- 3:45
- “Message to the World” - 4:04
- “Apathy Is a Deathwish” - 3:31
- “We’re Not Gonna Make It” - 4:03
- “Cannonball” - 3:50
- “Terrified” - 4:00
- “Pale Blue Dot (Interlude)” - 1:06
- “Welcome to Our New War” - 5:11
I like how it doesn’t have too much angst and screaming. I’m not one with a taste for stuff with too much screaming. Oftenly, it shifts from screaming to piano solos to silence to guitar riffs (which I love =P).
So yeah, the songs which caught my ear on the first run-through was “Wake Up”, “Message To The World” and “We’re Not Gonna Make It.” But after several replays some of the other songs sort of grew on me. Usually songs which grow on you will remain in your head longer than catchy ones. Well at least that’s what it seems to me.
Oh and The Academy Is… has a latest album out and wow it’s like so much difference from their previous one. Suddenly they sound like any other emo/pop-punk band. Aww…sure I still like it but they made themselves quite forgetable. I have like 100+ music albums of different genres I’ve collected since last year or before and today I can remember likes less than 10 albums how they sound like. The rest I’ve pretty much forgot how they sound like and some I even forgot that I have them.
Hmm perhaps I should just delete those I forgot about. They’re not exactly very small in size. But ah well, I’ll think of that tomorrow or later. It’s quite close to 3A.M now and I’m gonna hit the sack. Gonna go for dimsum tomorrow and then wait for Teddy to come! =D
Nite all. And Happy Raya =).
