Story Of The Year - The Black Swan

So yeah I downloaded Story Of The Year’s newest album The Black Swan. At first I thought maybe this album would be like many of the others, (just for collection), but then I found myself listening to it over and over again.

Track listing:-

  1. “Choose Your Fate” - 3:34
  2. “Wake Up” - 3:32
  3. “The Antidote” - 4:00
  4. “Tell Me (P.A.C.)” - 3:59
  5. “Angel In the Swamp” - 4:29
  6. “The Black Swan”- 3:45
  7. “Message to the World” - 4:04
  8. “Apathy Is a Deathwish” - 3:31
  9. “We’re Not Gonna Make It” - 4:03
  10. “Cannonball” - 3:50
  11. “Terrified” - 4:00
  12. “Pale Blue Dot (Interlude)” - 1:06
  13. “Welcome to Our New War” - 5:11
I like how it doesn’t have too much angst and screaming. I’m not one with a taste for stuff with too much screaming. Oftenly, it shifts from screaming to piano solos to silence to guitar riffs (which I love =P).
So yeah, the songs which caught my ear on the first run-through was “Wake Up”, “Message To The World” and “We’re Not Gonna Make It.” But after several replays some of the other songs sort of grew on me. Usually songs which grow on you will remain in your head longer than catchy ones. Well at least that’s what it seems to me.
Oh and The Academy Is… has a latest album out and wow it’s like so much difference from their previous one. Suddenly they sound like any other emo/pop-punk band. Aww…sure I still like it but they made themselves quite forgetable. I have like 100+ music albums of different genres I’ve collected since last year or before and today I can remember likes less than 10 albums how they sound like. The rest I’ve pretty much forgot how they sound like and some I even forgot that I have them.
Hmm perhaps I should just delete those I forgot about. They’re not exactly very small in size. But ah well, I’ll think of that tomorrow or later. It’s quite close to 3A.M now and I’m gonna hit the sack. Gonna go for dimsum tomorrow and then wait for Teddy to come! =D
Nite all. And Happy Raya =).

Might As Well Just Shrivel Up and Disappear

The one thing that could make all the bad luck in the past week fade into nothing is repelling against me.

I’m just so tired of all the let-downs. I learned that the “hope” is the one that kills you most, not the fact that you’ve been let down.

From now on, I’m not gonna hope (too much) for anything. I’ll just things happen on its own accord. I’m seriously tired of it already.

—————————————-

I’m feeling better now. Guess who instead cheered me up?

Gir!

I’m gonna go order pizza and watch some episodes of Invader Zim. Haven’t watched it in a long time.

P.S. My birthday is coming, (in about a month) so if anyone can actually manage to get me a Gir plushie toy, I’ll be your bestest friend in the world for a very very very long time. =D

Kick me while I’m down, anyone?

As to relate to the title, I have been having the worst ever week from hell. The experience is relatively new to me and I do not like it.

Sigh, I sure hope I do manage to survive through it. I’m not really sure how it started but I do recall waking up on Monday morning feeling so exhausted and uninterested with anything other than my bed. But I suppose that was because last weekend I went to a camp and came back with my whole body aching. However, since the moment I opened my eyes on Monday, I could sense something already.

Then Tuesday, I had classes from 8A.M to 5P.M (although usually we end by 4.30PM). Ugh. I really hate Tuesdays. Plus I was still kinda tired and sore from the camp. So I practically dragged myself from class to class till it was time to head home. Oh, but the worst for the day has yet to come.

It was during the night and for some very minor reason I burst and went hysterical on Teddy. Yeah, and that led to a little fight. But that wasn’t gonna be the last.

On Wednesday, it started out alright. Class started at 2PM and we watched a movie during class. It was only at night that whatever was in my hell was let loose. Another huge row with Teddy and this time with a little extra something that’s gonna be lingering in my head and haunting me for a very long time. Ugh.

The next day, Thursday was pretty much the aftermath of what happened on Wednesday night. Couldn’t help thinking about it and ended up pretty much distracted until we went to celebrate Steph’s belated birthday where I got to loosen up a bit and forget about it until later on.

And today, Friday. Again I felt like I woke up the wrong side of the bed. Again dragged myself through Economics class and chose to skip belly dance class ‘coz I was most definitely not in the mood to shake my ass around.

So I packed my stuff and headed back home to Sg Long. Was quite happy to be home, thought that maybe my unlucky streak would stay in Sunway and not follow me back. But oh, I was wrong. Again another minor argument with Teddy.

Sigh. I hate this. The past week has been the worst ever. So, to whomever “up there” that I have somewhat offended, I apologize and now please put an end to my sh*tty days.

P.S. There were many other little bad things that happened during the week that I didn’t include in the post above. It would too depressing to type.

Anyhow, I’m gonna retire for the night. Am feeling really exhausted today. Perhaps after a good night’s sleep, the bad luck streak will just fade away into nothing.

Nite all.

Deprived of the freedom to go out

So it’s a public holiday today and so far for the whole day I have done nothing but watched the entire season 4 of Friends (not that it’s a bad thing, I quite enjoyed it) but the point is I am not allowed to go out.

Yep. My parents are quite well…paranoid is quite a strong word, I’ll settle with cautious. They gave me strict orders not to leave my apartment and stay put until further notice until things regarding DSAI (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), BN, our prime minister and all sorts are settled. Sigh. Yeah, so I’m pretty much stuck at home with not much to do.

Oh yeah, about the last post, I sorta mentioned that I had a “surprise.” Well just to make things easier, the surprise is I got myself a PSP! Weeee! Yup.

But still it gets pretty boring being all alone here. =(

Anyway, it’s dinner time. I’ll go make something for myself. But then again, maybe I shouldn’t since I am supposed to be on a diet. Argh. I’ll just get a drink or something. Yep. That’s right. A drink shall do. And I will not cheat on my diet. I will not. I promise. =D

P.S.

This creme brulee from Italiannies is to die-for. Omg. I’m so craving for it now. =(

Finally A Chance To Update!

Weeeee…Friendster finally has more customisable themes. I changed my theme to this green grassy one because I think it looks pretty neat and sweet =).

So yes, a lot has been happening lately.

Firstly, I got a little surprise gift from Teddy!

Pooh bear!

Teddy knowing how much I adore Winnie the Pooh, gave me a mini Pooh Bear wearing a silly hat tied to a box of Belgium chocolates. Thank you Teddie! Love you!

Secondly, I bought Teddy a prezzie too! Say hi to Fluffles!

I’m not really sure what kinda animal is he, but I think he’s just too cute! So I got it for Teddy! =D

————————————-

Anyway, lots has been happening at college too. We went for another round of fine dining invited by Zanne’s friend in Taylor’s Hospitality School. This time there were four of us including Jacinta. The food was prepared by first year students, so yeah, you know =P.

Menu of the day

Started off with some bread and butter

We ordered a mocktail each. Quite nice. 7/10

Appetiser: Mornay Crab Cakes 7.5/10

Main course: Roast Beef With Yorkshire Pudding & Gravy 5/10

The beef was kinda thick and tough. Felt like chewing on rubber.

Dessert: Swiss Roll With Vanilla Sauce 6/10

So that was pretty much it. I would say this time the appetiser was better than our first fine dining experience. But other than that, the first was better. The beef was soooo tough. I think the cook sliced it too thick and therefore couldn’t be cooked properly. But anyway, this coming Wednesday I’m being invited again to another lunch service by a friend who’s in the scholarship club. So…yay! Can’t wait for it. =P

Mmm I got a little bit more to post about our recent Merdeka event organised by us at S.A.Y Club but I’m kinda beat already. So maybe next time I’ll post the pics and a little description of it. And ooh yeah, plus I would show you guys what I bought recently for myself. =P

Nite all.
