Finally!!! Guess what??? I got a computer in my own room at last!!! Yay!!! But setting it up brought a little headache…kept doing it wrongly then had to do all over again. Haha. Hmm….let’s go through the entire process of buying the parts for my pc. We’ll start with the PC Fair.

PC Fair 2006 - 11th August

Went there with Krystine straight after school. Train going there wasn’t very packed. Like every other day. Reached there around 2.30pm-3pm…after settling neccessary stuff (toilet etc etc) headed straight for PC Fair. I expected a huge crowd. But it wasn’t THAT crowded. There was still room for breathing. Lol. Okay…so we walked one whole round just surveying prices and stuff. So come second round…we got our speakers. And boy…they were HEAVY… Thank God mine wasn’t as heavy as Krystine’s. But still it was bad having to lug it around. So there we were…two girls carrying/dragging (Krys was carrying…I was dragging) huge boxes of speakers. And to make it worse…i was wearing heels. It wasn’t very high though…around two inch…but…the bad part of it…the back part of it kept cutting into my skin at my heels…so now i’m left with 3 painful cuts on my feet(the third one came later). I bought RAM, graphic card, thumbdrive, mouse and speakers on that day. When it was about 6pm something we left pc fair to have our dinners at Delifrance…and yeah…there was this guy…at the cashier…asked for my number…but of coz i didnt give it to him. I just gave him a smile and walked away. Haha. Heartbreaker ain’t I? Anyway…journey home was not very smooth…there were lots more people now plus we had to carry the two huge boxes of speakers which kept weighing more by the minute. I think we got home around 8pm.

PC Fair 2006 - 12th August
On the second day, I went with my parents. Left home around 11.30am-12pm. Parked some way from KLCC…had to walk a distance but it was okay. We had lunch first before heading to the fair. Today the crowd was much much more. Little room for breathing. So my mom and I went around asking for prices for this and that and my dad…he just tagged along. I felt bad…him just following us around. I told him that i felt bad but he said it was okay. It almost made me want to cry when i think about him standing at the corner there waiting for us to finish our shopping. >.< Anyway, let’s not talk into this. I bought most of the parts from MTec. We were served by this funny chinese guy. He kinda reminded me of one of my classmates, Alfie (a nickname we gave him). So I got my processor, motherboard, hard disk drive and lcd monitor from MTec. After my mom finished bargaining…and that was a long time…we gave the stuff to my dad for him to look after and headed off to look for a casing. We decided to get one from the PowerLogic booth. There was this one which attracted me alot. But the guy there said that there was no stock and it would only come later after 6pm and it was only 4.30pm then. So after much consideration…my mom said she would wait and paid the RM50 deposit first. Then when we were about to walk away..the guy called out to us and said that the stock had arrived! Yay! Talk about being lucky. I was so happy I almost wanted to hug him. Lolz. The last thing that was left was my keyboard. We were in a hurry so I just grabbed a microsoft one. A white one to match my whole set. Journey home was okay…felt to happy to sit down again…was wearing heels again on that day.

Mid Valley - 13th August
Sunday. Went out with the girls. CM, Krystine, Jie Yi. My initial plan was not to spend more than RM30. But guess how much I actually spent? More than RM100!! *sigh* This refraining-from-spending plan wont work for me. Next time…I won’t bring more than RM30. Haha. Wanna know what I bought? I bought a pair of white shorts from Labelsz. It was only RM26! So I grabbed it. Then I got an orange spaghetti strap top from Elle. It was RM42.50….but but but it was worth it!! The design was special. Hehe. So most of my money was spent on clothes (the usual)…the rest just stuff like lunch, ice-cream, drinks, and accessories. And today I was wearing heels again..the same one. My feet were almost crying out in pain. It hurt alot…I walked a lot more than in PC Fair. We were exhausted by 5pm…so we left for the train station around 5.30pm. Journey home was tiring…the train was packed like sardine in a can…had to stand…and…I don’t have to say anything more about my feet. They were killing me! Got home around 7:15pm.

So…i went out like three days in a row and walked around for more than 5 hours in heels…two inch heels. I didn’t go to school today (Monday)…felt really tired and sick when i woke up this morning.

Okay then…back to the main subject of the post. About my new computer. THE new computer in my house. Let’s lay out all the specifications.

On Saturday…I spent about 2 or 3 hours assembling the pc by myself…with a little help from my parents just to hold or carry some stuff for me (they are totally clueless when it comes to computers). This was my first time assembling a pc from scratch. It’s working fine now…but of coz there were little errors along the way. But overall I would say it isn’t that bad. Hehe. For a first timer and for a girl too. =P Okay then…i wanna get back to fully utilizing my brand new pc before bed time… Ciaoz!
