Malicious Minds

Something my dad told us just now made me think… He said that "A married couple is connected only through love and laws…but both of them would sacrifice a lot for each other. Their own offspring…meaning their children who are connected by blood with them would never do the same". It makes me wonder…even though how much i wanted it to not be true…it is true. We never feel towards our parents the way we feel towards our lovers. We wouldn’t sacrifice for our parents as much as we would for our lovers. My dad says it is like this in every family…but why?? Why are we such cruel beings?? Why can’t we do the same to our parents?? Maybe even sacrifice more?? *sigh* i guess it just can’t be helped…
